Great British Chefs and Peter's Yard have joined forces to launch the Great British Cheese Awards, an exciting new scheme with one aim: to recognise, promote and reward excellence in the UK's artisan cheese industry. In this unique celebration of great cheese, we're asking you to vote for your favourite varieties and tell us about the best places to buy them.

The awards celebrate the best of British cheese produced and distributed by independent cheesemakers and retailers. After over 500 nominations from the public we’ve whittled down the entries into a shortlist, and now we want you to vote for the very best. We’ve brought together a judging panel of producers, chefs, bloggers and food writers too, who will put their expertise into action and taste their way through the most voted for cheeses.

We have seven categories for you to vote in, covering different varieties of cheese as well as the people who make and sell them. The UK's artisan cheese industry has never been as exciting or innovative as it is now, and we want to tell the world about it.
