Take a look at some of the finest images of food, drink and the people who make it from the past twelve months.
Today, food is there to be looked at and admired almost as much as it is for eating. The power of social media means chefs and restaurateurs now spend a lot of time thinking about how ‘Instagrammable’ their menus are, knowing it can make all the difference to their business.
For amateur and professional food-loving photographers, winning a prize at the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year awards is a huge achievement. With over twenty categories covering every aspect of food in society, it’s a fantastic showcase of talent and shows just how important food culture is today.
The judging panel was made up of people in both the photography and food world, including Gary Rhodes, photographer David Loftus and Emily Luchetti of the James Beard Foundation. The overall winner was Shoeb Faruquee for his stunning image titled Food for God and was presented with a cheque for £5,000. Take a look at all the winners below.
