Devils on horseback

Devils on horseback are a real Christmas favourite and very quick and easy to make. Sweet prunes are wrapped in smoky, salty bacon and roasted until crisp with an unctuous, sticky centre.

  • Cocktail sticks

Method

Preheat an oven to 180°C/gas mark 4

Wrap the prunes tightly in bacon

Place on an oven tray with the bacon seam at the bottom, to prevent them unravelling

Bake for around 10–15 minutes, or until the bacon is nice and crispy

Serve warm with cocktail sticks
