Sheds play a surprisingly important part in many people's lives. While some use it to store garden equipment, others turn it into a home for their hobby or passion, be it model railways, home-brewing or even just a place to enjoy a little bit of solitude. Kuba Winkowski, however, has taken things to the extreme, transforming the (admittedly rather large) shed in his back garden into a full-blown development kitchen.
Called Kubarn 'The Shed', the intimate space only has seats for up to four people, where Kuba tests, develops and creates dishes which reflect his unique cooking style. Kuba made his name at The Feathered Nest Inn previously, but here he can really indulge in his passion for cooking over wood fires, preserving the seasons and using the very best of The Cotswolds' produce.
Making the most of a wood-fired oven, barbecues and smokers, Kuba uses the space to develop dishes for his upcoming Kubarn 'The Restaurant'. To complement the hot dishes, Kuba makes all his own bread, butter, preserves and award-winning charcuterie.
Kuba and his wife Magda are hoping to open Kubarn 'The Restaurant' in autumn 2020, close to their Cotswolds home in Bourton-on-the-Water. Watch this space for updates.
